I'm confused. How would adding extra solar panels allow for driving extra miles if you had enough solar to charge a car to begin with? Besides, it's hard to charge a car overnight without a substantial investment in a household battery bank or tapping into the grid.


That is exactly how it works.....
If you are running grid tie, you feed the grid, and take it back. If you want off the grid, charge during the day, or get a bigger battery...
It HAS been done.
