Shortly after the announcement I emailed Tweed's PR with a few questions about the arrangement and Jordan confirmed "He's a partner, not a spokesperson".

I think this could be incredible for the Tweed brand (not just in Canada but internationally). My only slight concern with the deal would be if politicians and perhaps Health Canada took offence to it but that thought was put to rest the same day when I read all the positive news articles and I saw the Finance Minister post a picture of himself posing with Snoop. Tweed has always seemed to know what the government is planning before the rest of us and I hope that is this case with this move too. If Canada does it right our system becomes a model for the rest of the world and Canopy becomes the main player.

Tweed is certainly preparing for an LCBO style distribution model and all the decision making politicians are strongly hinting at that from the Justice Minister to the Health Minister to Bill Blair to the Prime Minister himself in Quebec a couple days ago.

I think decriminalization in the meantime is out of the question and would only cause more chaos and Justin Trudeau himself responded to a "tweet" yesterday ruling that option out:

Justin Trudeau @JustinTrudeau
Decrim does nothing to protect kids from pot, and keeps money flowing to gangs, criminals and gun-runners. #first100 https://t.co/JMF8A2xQQW

Personally I hope to see our beloved Tweed selling recreationally by January 2017.

We should all have a MUCH better idea of the timeline when they lay out the Budget which will hopefully be mid March.
