No it has not been discredited. It has just been talked about negatively, as if a continued discussion of a falsity will make it fact. What is fact, and has long been accepted, is that to have announced a valuation was conducted and to have offered data related to its outcome that is not true, would be not only a breach of management's fiduciary responsibility, it would be violation of the law. And, as with any alleged conspiracy, there is a shelf-life beyond which the ability to maintain the secret is untenable. Moreover, if anyone has evidence this is the case, they should bring it forward. If not, then to continue this discussion is to perpetuate a falsity...PERIOD!
