Brokerage notifications are NORMAL, LOL !!
They're a legal requirement. The MUST SEND THEM OUT and send them out multiple times. Has nothing to do with Astellas being "desperate" or the usual myths and nonsense from the magic cell blog site thingy.
The brokerage cut-off dates for processing Tendered shares is earlier than the final date of the extension. They must insure that ALL shareholders have been given ample notice to not claim later, "Hey, I didn't know since no one told me blah, blah blah" or whatever. So yeah, their gonna send it like 5 different times- by email, be email again, probably a snail mailer and a phone call too.
Big whoop. Brokerage generated notices mean ZERO as to whether or not Astellas has bagged the 50% + 1 (which IMO, they likely have already given these big ole volumes, or will withing days)-
I agree that the phone bank services, an entire separate effort and deal- when that stops, it's much more indicative that Astellas knows they have it bagged, so why spend the money for those services which is not cheap, and billed by the call or hour, etc.
If Astellas knows they have a comfortable margin now- then they're just packing on gravy shares to give um any margin above and beyond 50% + 1 that they can gain. They know the share counts- I'd guarantee it. Probably right down to the hour, or for certain, at least at each days closing- as Citi is tallying the count for um.
Astellas and OCATA and Citi and Jeffries "see" all- they know what the counts are and what the rate of incoming Tendered shares are each day, etc. They can gauge the daily volumes (HIGH again today) and they likely even have their "street" feelers/ears to give them feedback as to what the hedge boys and Arbitrage big boys are doing, etc. NO freaking way they're in the dark about anything- they're the "House" in Vegas, they have the inside baseball and 20X the info of what any retail holder or trader knows or sees.
The volumes remaining very high and the price hugging tight, slightly below the Tender offer price = Astellas winning. Simple as that IMO.
