You'll never get any evidence to support the claims made, and you'll never find any evidence...because there is no evidence. It's a total fabrication.

As for motivation. Who knows? But I agree with the following:

This scam has run it's course. Anyone defending it has to be either operating on behalf of management which is hoping for one more small run to scrape some cash off the top of the spike, or someone who lost so much money they are desperately hanging on to the fantasy of possibly getting it back.

I cannot state the position any better than that.
