sgolds, but we know that Opteron and A64 use exactly same chipsets. So if AMD markets 940-pin A64's to make inroad into gaming market without damaging the Opteron brand, technically they can. I'm sure it will be possible to stick any-pin A64 into some sort of adapter, and run it on any Opteron board, with the only requirement that bios knows A64.
