I watched the market fall all day in 1987/ For the record, i bought appl the friday before, and sold it for a small profit on wednesday after the big two day rally after it.

But the drop in 1997 and 2011 were faster and more brutal than the crash of 1987, which was a slow steady drop all day after a big gap down.
