It gets worse than that.
They increase the fixed charges. So any investment in energy savings goes to the utility.
If you use batteries and go off the grid. The utility meters your panels and charges you. That is REAL.

So if you make dinner tonight you owe McDonalds a fee.
If you have a garden. You have to send money to the grocery store for a free.
Go to the gas station and reset the pump and it starts at $10.00 before you start pumping. Pumps cost you know.

THey put solar panels on a church, and Duke Energy asked to fine them $1,000 per day, because Duke Energy is THE ONLY ONE allowed to deliver electricity.
That is what they call free market capitalism?
