Given the Playstation 3 launch delay, I wouldn't be surprised if they launched with the 65nm Cell variant. It would reduce costs and power, while improving performance and availability.

Huh? This is a video game console. Cost and power reduction
are always welcome but if developers are running with X GHz
Cells now then you get no bonus points for shipping say X
GHz plus 10% down the road.

Plus by the very the nature of the Cell architecture clock
frequency is almost irrelevent. If you "get it" and can get the
SPEs humming along then you have more compute cycles
than you know what to do with. If you don't get it and rely
on the single (relatively) conventional PPC core too heavily
then you couldn't possibly get enough GHz to make up for it.
