there are a ton of factors to jumping in on a stock, and yes who is pumping and what is happening is big - but i agree that charts are huge...i used to do much more t/a on stocks - bollis, ma's, w%, necklines, stochs, etc etc...

i do much less of it now - but for sure, if you took a chart like atek, and they delivered sweet news right now, i'd be in huge, because it looks like it's based and ready to turn...on the other hand, if usxp was .15 on monday and had another huge pump and great news, i may pass because of the over-bought, over-extended chart...

in summary for me - i take about 45 seconds to check a stock -i go right to 6-12 month chart, quick glance at historical news, quick check for anything psycho like a pending r/s, and then over to L2...

and if the chart isn't right, i definitely step back and wait..
