Its a huge problem! And an area that APDN could easily cash into make huge profits. The British rail service runs on a fail safe system that means when these guys steal the copper wire (huge cables) over night the next morning the whole system is closed down. Can you imagine in a country like Great Britain how much chaos that can cause and how much it costs them. I watched a documentary on it they replaced a cable costing 100,000s only to have it stolen the next night.

The government said a change in law, which made it harder to sell stolen metal, had been "absolutely crucial".
The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 required all dealers to be licensed, and gave the police and councils more power to inspect their premises.
The act also required sellers to produce identification and proof of address.
