SLM Solutions - I know this is not the SLM board, but I thought I would post here as it is somewhat relevant to Arcam. I could not find much in the way of message boards for SLM..if anyone has any suggestions.
I was trying to diversify my 3D holdings. Only hardware company I own is Arcam, so I am looking at SLM Solutions. I tried to buy shares via Fidelity online. I was amazed to find that Fidelity does not currently have SLM Solutions set up in their online system, so I could not buy shares. They said the ticker in their US system had not been utilized for 12 months (they were going to try to re-establish so that I could buy online). That said, Fidelity brokerage accounts could have purchased SLM on foreign markets. However, Fidelity charges $140.00 to execute these transactions.
In addition, the agent I spoke with saw only 7 Fidelity retail accounts owning the stock. SLM is a 350 million plus company that seem to be growing rapidly in a dynamic space. So this lack of activity seems surprising.
Just a data point suggesting that 3d companies/stocks are still under the radar screen - at least with retail accounts.
