This is sticky worthy. I think the weasel wording about the 4 Mbps rate came from DF. I think perhaps in his mind if upscaled 4K got downscaled to SD/HD due to a 4mbps signal it was still with claiming at the time because adaptive bit rate streaming was not a familiar term 3 years ago. NTEK was also sure to give the impression that this was proprietary technology when in my opinion, they simply implemented the existing technology and since nobody else was really doing it at the time, the intimation that it was "their" patented technology wouldn't be questioned. It's funny, now other companies are touting adaptive rate streaming and they make no mention of NTEK. In a short amount of time, not even die hard shareholders will be grabbing hold of their bit rate claims along with their understanding of 4K quality. Once Blu Ray UHD hits the shelves and people see native uncompressed 4K in all its glory people's perspectives will change drastically, I believe.
