The struggle here is not fundamental but rather a product of lack of liquidity in the sector. The large daily standard deviation, that is, volatility, is synthetic. The lack of liquidity is enforcing large spreads. Of course the volatility will be large in the environment. A healthy influx of volume would provide for an efficient spread and smooth out returns as the spread is discouraging entry. Edxc
