Who's to say.... many times a patent has 3 or more owners. Someone who did the utility, design, etc... Someone may have their name on the patent, but sometmes he's the focused owner and not sole proprietor.

If I had a 30 inch pipe say 4 inches in dia., and it had 23 gizmos, dohickys and watchamacallits, it's one tool with 23 patents. In tooling I'm lost when describing what I see, but that's the just of it.

Some of those design patents could be monsterious in detail as in hundreds of pages per patent.
