I think what has happened is probably more incompetence on Ali and Carter's part, than deliberate plotting/planning for failure.
What I don't understand is: Would REVO being banned forever to the Greys or becoming delisted, really absolve Ali and Carter of any and all future financial obligations to shareholders?
As far as conspiracy theories go, I'm more of a believer in the "fraudulent whistleblower theory" put forth by NotImpressed, i.e. claim fraud, and get the SEC involved in order to scam longs out of their shares.
However, the lack of communication here (leaving shareholders in the dark) by REVO management is very strange indeed.
