You and the other new inmate should try to do some relaxing things, now that you seem to be incarcerated. I'm sure it is a minor offense, but while you wait, try this.

Crafts Made From Popsicle (Craft) Sticks

Cross Necklace

Our church has Easter crafts each year for the younger children. This craft was very popular with the children. I have typed up the directions to help groups set this craft up. The project requires the use of a drill. Once the project is assembled, it is easy for young children to make.
Parental supervision is recommended.

This project is rated AVERAGE to do.

What You Need

Popsicle sticks
Drill
Small drill bit
Aquarium rocks
Large tub (to hold the rocks)
Several bottles of Tacky glue (see tips below)
Yarn
Scissors
Several Permanent markers, thin lined
Newspapers
Table

How To Make It

You will need to prepare this ahead of time:
Note: You will need 2 Popsicle sticks for each child. Only 1 stick needs a hole drilled in it.
Using a drill, drill a small hole in one end of the Popsicle stick. Do this once for each set of 2 Popsicle sticks.
Take an un-drilled Popsicle stick and glue it (see photograph) near the end of the other Popsicle stick that has a hole drilled in it. You will glue it to form a cross.
Cut a piece of yarn long enough to be a necklace for a child. Tie a knot in the two ends.
Get a table set up for the craft.
Cover the whole table with newspapers.
Lay out the cross necklaces in one pile.
Lay out the markers next to the necklaces.
Put the aquarium rocks into the tub and set on the table.
Set out several bottles of tacky glue on the table.
Time for the craft!
Remove the lids of the tacky glue and set the lids aside.
Have the child, or help them, write their name on the back of the cross.
Apply tacky glue to the other side of the cross.
Place the cross, glue side down, into the aquarium rocks. Push a bit to make the rocks stick.
Remove the cross from the tub.
If needed, push the rocks further into the glue.
Place the cross, glue side up, on the table and allow it to dry a bit.
Have the child go to another table for a craft and return to pick up their necklace.

Tips

We used Elmer's glue for this project originally, but the rocks tended to slide off until dry. If using in a group setting, we recommend using Tacky Glue.
DLTK's Crafts for Kids had a very crafty variation for this craft. They used colored rice in place of the aquarium gravel.

Ya gotta love it, pal.
