Imo very well put as usual and a very informative post also.
As I started to say/imply yesterday re: the 45000 shareholders, imo it is hige and unwarranted assumption to believe that even a fraction of them are even remotely emotionally involved as several folks on the various forums are.
I think most want to be appraised of the overall happenings of their investment as time moves on but not on a second by second blow by blow account/fixatiob every minute of every day as some folks in the forum do and especially so at the other forum we talk about each day.
Thus, they may view the takeover/merger in a lot different way than he people cited above and may just accept the BOD's recommendation and either tender their shares or sell them to be sure to get the $8.50.
As an analogy, I have been a diehard Red Sox fan all of my life which goes back to the early 50's.
I watch or listen to all or parts of the games except when I go on vacation when I usually just check the score on my IPhone.
I read the commentary about the team, possible trades, etc.
That said, my interest pales in comparison with some of the folks on the Red Sox Forum, who talk about every play of the game, every pitch, every managerial decision in the game, every move the Sox should make, every detail about every player in the minor league system and on and on and on.
My point is that I am a loyal and dedicated fan but don't have the fanaticism of some other fans.
Back to Ocata and how this relates to me as an investor who has owned stock in the company for ten years and who has been around since this forum started.
To be honest, I try to get the gist of every post.
However, when I see long technical explanations of medical explanations and/or what this patent or that patent means, I don't read the whole thing because some of it I don't understand and I actually find it a bit boring-I just want to know what it is about in a nutshell and that it is a positive moving forward for my investment and how it will help patients someday.
Obviously others feel differently and who want to absorb every last detail-I respect that.
Back to the 45000 and the main point:
I just have to assume that many of those 45000 people don't visit forums like this one and just keep up with the general news about the company.
Imo this means in essence when they saw the signed agreement with Ocata and Astellas for $8.50 share and which was recommended by the BOD, unlike many of the folks I allude to in the forum, they are not going to project what the company MAY be worth in the future, say it is undervalued, Astellas will raise its bid, someone else will offer more, there will be a bidding war, etc. and are simply going to sign off on it and move on.
