"Bolt expects its spinning process to yield spider silk yarn at a price of less than $100 per kg"

Well from the get go BT has been nothing but a scam to me. The things they do and say are what lead me to that conclusion. Lost samples and no real information other than rhetoric and fluff.

this statement is a good example.
Spiber is aiming for $100 a kilo cost that is actually pretty expensive considering that is before making a yarn. BT believes they will produce the yarn for the same cost as spibers goo which is 1000 times cheaper than any other given estimate.

BT is full of crap. I don't believe anything from them since they changed their name and began pretending that they are a new company with recent innovations when in fact this is just the second time through with the same story.

Spiber I believe is actually attempting to produce something but I think they know they can not produce spider strength fibers and are working the novelty of spider silk to make a gimmick sale of their fibers.
Its a good idea if I am right. As long as they are first they could make enough to finance actual spider silk production but they need to be first or they lose the gimmick.
