Well, Tim Sweeney is talking about the engine content-authoring from the side of the game developer, not the game player. However, I do agree that Intel needs to address the needs of this growing development market who will easily switch to AMD as 32-bit Windows runs out of headroom and Itanium 2 isn't viable as a low cost alternative. If Intel were smart, they'd be working with Microsoft to remove the 2GB user address space limit on Windows, and at least crank it up to the full 4GB minus the OS footprint. That would be a good short term solution.
