I was one of several veterans hired on by kapacke towards the end of 2012 for security at the mine site. Upon our hiring, we were told that all equipment/clothing used or purchased for our job would be reimbursed, that was lie number 1. We arrived at the mine site only to be told by the heavy equipment renter that due to kapacke's lack of rental payments all the mining equipment was being repossessed along with all the rented living facilities that were there. Pat pizzoferatto told our security teams not to allow them to remove anything from the site because it was their equipment, their mine, and it was being wrongfully taken. Upon further investigation on our part (security), we found out by contacting MSHA, BLM (bureau of land management), the heavy rental company, and the white pines sheriffs office, the truth about kapacke mining. Pat apparently had "permission" to use the name kapacke mining, which Is a legit company that primarily mines in ND. Pat told us directly that he won the mine thru a poker game, later he changed his story and told us that he didn't own the mine but that he won the rights to the mine for the next 30 years thru a poker game. We were told by he and several other "executives" that MSHA and BLM were constantly harassing them along with other claim stakers. Turns out after talking to the very same MSHA inspector that kapacke mining had more violations in the 6 or 7 months they were there than other stakes had in 5 or more years. BLM fined kapacke for numerous land violations in using mining a site which they did not have permission to mine. We were constantly told by pat and Tim that the mining would resume as soon as some minor paper work was filed. Turns out again that BLM permanently revoked kapacke's mining rights forever and is never allowed to mine in the state of Nevada again. You can contact the BLM northern office in elko, nv for confirmation of all this. After I discovered all this I went to Tim and asked him man to man what was going on. I was terminated. All this wasn't even the worst thing that happened. A week later we all got our paychecks. We were told to go to a check cashing place to cash them. They would not cash or accept the checks!!!!! No bank or credit union would accept them. All had the same story, "kapacke mining owes us too much money for us to accepts their checks." In all there were about 8 veterans that were hired. Kapacke's owed us all about $2k each for work. We eventually had to file a joint claim against kapacke for nonpayment of wages. Still to this day kapacke has not paid anyone a dime. I went to the office and literally everyone was painting and fixing things in the office, which I thought was odd. I was told they were refurbishing and getting new office furniture. Found out a couple days later from the business park manager they were being evicted. When none of us were reimbursed or paid, I went to the state division of labor which was responsible for hiring of veterans. The gentleman I spoke with, will call him "bob". Bob told me that Tim was trying to hire more veterans !!!!! I told him that most of us had been fired by that time, there was no reason to have other vets go thru what we were. Bob also informed me that kapacke knew about the tax break they got for hiring a vet....$14k per veteran in that tax year. We were being paid with our own tax break they were receiving. Too bad for kapacke it's only a 1 time tax incentive per employee, not reoccurring. Kapacke is no longer allowed to hire vets in the state of nv either. Too bad for the real kapack mining that they are getting their names dragged thru the dirt by pat and his little cronie family. The last time I heard from pat, he was accusing all of us of stealing all his stuff and his gold!!!? Lmao!!! If we had stolen his gold do you really think we would have cared about our crappy 2000$ dollars he owed us?! There is alot more to this story, but this is just the main big points of it all.

My plea to anyone who pat pizzoferatto approaches, run!! Run as fast as you can in the oposite direction. He is a con, a master manipulator, an intimidator. He will promise you the world and then take the shirt off your mothers back.
