I wonder why they do that. Is it cost, or are TSMC's processes simply more robust for these kinds of chips?


TSMC make all sorts of stuff and have long life fabs. I thought they might be interested in IBM's foundries to expand their coverage of RF stuff and become a true one stop shop for everything but they tend to be quite cautious in their planning and investment.
