Then your assumption implies that this stock was shorted from brokers outside the US. Come on man, don't give into the fallacy that people short this little stinky pinkies. That is a load of garbage. These stocks go to no bid because they're WORTHLESS. Now if this was a stock that was eligible to be margined, then I would believe it could have been shorted, but the fact is that it is not and has not been eligible to be margined. Any belief to the contrary is just foolishness.
