So before a drug has even gone through FDA trials to approval you short the stock and write a hit piece to say it doesn’t work. You have no proof because none is available and the stock tanks and you make money at the expense of the longs. The company believes otherwise but is faced with the dilemma of now raising funds when the stock has been hurt by an unsupported document of lies and is then hit with the threat of a class action shareholder lawsuit. Pure blackmail in my opinion and it doesn’t surprise me that companies settle just to get these parasites off their back.
