Anytime a maintenance activity is performed on a plane, it is called maintenance because there are workers called maintainers performing maintenance. Whether it be an upgrade or scheduled, it is still defined as maintenance. Also, this maintenance will be logged in a maintenance record to keep track of the A/C maintenance history.

P.S. A Nose gear job will typically take up to a week to accomplish.
