Dan3 - they have to buy their technology

Don't worry Dan. Intel has plenty of cash (over 8 billion, if I recall) to make purchases of this sort. This allows them to continue to explore future revenue generation opportunities in areas outside of microprocessor development. This makes me confident that Intel will continue to be a dominant player in the semiconductor industry for many years to come, as it has the foresight and the capital to invest.

You should learn to respect companies like Intel that can make opportunities for itself unlike AMD, who needs to go begging for benefactors like IBM to keep them alive.
