(...before it becomes and election issue)
Letter sent, why not...
Mrs. Clinton,
I would like to vote for you, however I cannot until Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are recapitalized and released from conservatorship.
Yes, this is an election issue you and your colleagues must fix right away. As a shareholder in these companies I urge fair treatment and respect for the rule of law.
The U.S. treasury is swiping every dollar from these shareholder owned companies each quarter depriving them of needed capital to continue carrying out their important role in our housing finance system.
I urge immediate action on part of the FHFA, The treasury, and/or the president to recapitalize and release Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from conservatorship.
I would like to also point out a plan to recapitalize and release drafted by Bill Clinton's former advisors including Mr. Shapiro. This plan would fund the Housing Trust Fund and the Magnetic Capital Fund (as set forth by HERA 2008) that would help revitalize poor communities and those that need help in realizing their dreams of home ownership, which is truly a national interest. While I think the plan's capital requirement of about 4% is too high, I do think the companies will be more than secure with a Fort Knox like balance sheet with a capital requirement of about 2.5%.
I hope you take these things into consideration and swiftly act. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Very Sincerely,
.....
