‘Well over 2000 companies worldwide [are] already involved in nanotechnology’ reads the headline of a NanoWerk News(link is external) article; it continues to explain that, '[a]t the latest count, over 2100 companies from 48 countries are involved in nanotechnology research, manufacturing or applications - a number that keeps growing at a considerable pace'.

'With more than 1100 companies, the U.S. is home to roughly half of all nanotechnology firms. 670 companies are in Europe, 230 in Asia and 210 elsewhere in the world. Within Europe, Germany is represented with 211 companies, followed by the UK with 146 companies'.

'Over 270 companies are involved in the manufacture of raw materials such as nanoparticles, nanofibers and -wires, carbon nanotubes, or quantum dots. More than 340 companies are active in life sciences and pharmaceutical fields. The vast majority with well over half of all companies are involved in manufacturing instruments, devices, or advanced materials and components.'

NanoWerk supports the statistics with a link to the Nanotechnology Company Directory(link is external), which groups nanotechnology companies into four main categories:
• raw materials
• biomedicine and life sciences
• products, applications, and instruments
• services and intermediaries

.....of course Universities and Laboratories spin-off companies, (as recent posts indicate) Hence All Things related to nanotech should be posted; (then discounted as not relevant according to past posts).
Question: Why is such info now considered relevant now, but not then? Better question; How does info lead to 1%+ ownership of company?
Consider every PR/Q/K and timely info flows which follow and questions may be answered, (just tol from my pov).

Funny, how only Displays were relevant,.......wait for it.....then QLeds........and now Optics get mentioned.......Wonder if TFTs, Sensors, and etc. will also become relevant in due time?

Regardless, as this is now only a Nano Discussion Bd, here is a more current list of 20 QD Mfgs

______________

Hey, wouldn't it be great for nano knowledge if we had a list of all Universities, Laboratories and Companies involved in QDs w/updates daily.......and not just around Qs/Ks/PRs

Let's keep the info flowing for the Nano Discussion Bd so we that invested into QMC can stay informed.

.....no attacks; just education

Great right?
