At any rate, I think the initial demand estimates for the Apple Watch were completely unrealistic. However, Apple seems to be selling quite a few of them, even if demand isn't as high as some of the analysts thought.

I think over time, the Apple Watch will become more and more interesting as it gains substantially more compute power and independence from the iPhone; it's very much a first generation product but I can envision it becoming far more than it is today with enough compute horsepower.

I don't think it'll ever come to be anywhere close to as successful as the iPhone (I don't think anything will for the foreseeable future, TBH), but Apple should be able to make quite a lot of money on these things from here on out, IMO.
