As far as I can tell, $18k was spent this month on promotional newsletters. Not saying it's good or bad, just that people don't pay for such things without the expectation of profiting from it. I get the whole 'spreading the word' argument but the 'that'll take care of itself with an official release' argument is also pretty strong.
