Haddock, thanks, the very first reference says they are running Linux -

I thought so. By putting this version of Linux on each quad they get load balancing of the threads between the four processors, if they simply connect them using HT. Then they need to work out the clustering details to connect the quads together, distributing packages of threads between the quads.
