The app subscription model won't work. Who TF would want ads after every 3 pages of a sillybook? After every 5-7 pages, maybe, but no one will keep reading comics with those constant video ads. Even with a 5-second skip option.
The paid subscription model for Powell-Folio won't work either. I have biz associates that tried that model in various niches and they were all pumped up about it like ZennyBoy. After 1 month, most users drop their paid subscription. The fallacy is that $10/month is dirt cheap and everyone will pay it. The reality is that most people won't. Even if the model launches, it will collapse within 3 months. Watch and see.
I still think they should be working feverishly on the Marki comic. But these guys are major league farkups and make terrible strategic decisions over and over. Their screw ups are comical and mind-boggling.
Powell has been caught in so many lies - he's a disgrace. For those who have bucks still in this, you have to hope new dumb money comes along that doesn't do DD on this CEO's past BS. That's your only hope.
I have never seen such incompetence in the business world. And I could tear apart that video with all its BS if I had the time or inclination. There is no end to the deceit with this outfit.
BTW, the line about the advertisers saying Q2/Q3 2016 is better (than the holiday season) is complete rubbish. Incredible BS. Nothing beats the holiday season.
