I did a study in grad school on interest rates and real estate from the beginning of the country banking system. It was started by the Dutch. Rates on amounts of secured and unsecured risk ranged from 1% to 25% Seems they make that change over 20-25 year periods. Pass books in the 40 and 50's were 1 to 1 1/2% in the 50's there were 23/4 to 3 1/2 then in the 60's from 6 to 7%. 70's 7-9 until September I think some place around the 15th they jumped in one day from 7.5% to 13% then ran up into the 20's.
If you need or think you may need capital in the future better grab what you can at thees low rates.
3 and 4% won't last much longer.
