Gretchen Morganson has done investors a disservice, IMO, by barking up the wrong tree.



I know nothing about the VRX accounting (not that interested) but FWIW surrounding the housing/mortgage implosion of 2007/8 she wrote multiple stories about the mortgage, brokers, and securities related industries wrt mortgages. And she got almost all of them factually incorrect wrt anything more complex than about 2+2=4. (see the Calculated Risk blog from that era for the best deconstruction of her multitude of errors.). Not sure why the NYT keeps her doing accounting type forensics.
