Dear steve,

Drug testing in a criminal justice setting can be challenging with traditional urine testing programs. Matching the gender of the client and test administrator, shy bladder excuses, and drug test cheating are just a few of the issues associated with urine drug testing. Recently, the federal government issued proposed guidelines for lab-based oral fluid testing. Among the reasons the feds gave for offering an alternative testing method after decades of only permitting urine testing included the ease of which oral fluid collections take place, the elimination of shy bladder issues, and the significant reduction in successful drug test cheating efforts.

Join well-known drug testing expert Bill Current of the Current Consulting Group and Melissa McClain, Program Director, 9th JDC Rapides Parish Adult Drug Court for a timely discussion on the benefit of lab-based oral fluid testing.

Attendees will learn:

How lab-based oral fluid testing compares to urine testing regarding accuracy, window of detection, and collection procedures
How lab-based oral fluid testing reduces chances of successful drug test cheating efforts
How to compare the advantages of the three main testing methods-hair, urine and oral fluid
The advantage of merging urine and oral fluid testing methods into a single testing program
