I've bought a ton of stocks that went down after I purchased them, leaving me with 4 choices: hold, sell, short or buy more.
I usually wind up using a pretty tight stop loss and then re-evaluate the stock over time -- sometimes I walk away, sometimes I rebuy, average down, trade, short, hedge or often times a combination of all or most of the above.
You can't get the bottom on every trade, unless you are pretend trading in some bizarro fantasy world.
