The government has told executives of Wynn Macau Ltd to keep quiet about the allotment of quotas for gaming tables to casino operators, Business Daily reports.

The newspaper quotes an unidentified source as saying Secretary of the Economy and Finance Lionel Leong Vai Tak, Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau director Manuel Joaquim das Neves and the Wynn Macau executives had a brief meeting in which it was made clear to the executives that “some matters should not be [aired] in public”.

The Secretariat of the Economy and Finance issued a written statement saying it was displeased by criticism of how the government allotted quotas, without saying who was being critical.

The boss of Wynn Macau, Steve Wynn, has criticised the government for failing to tell him how many tables his company’s new casino will be allowed.
