I've got a pet peeve for the day.....

I hate bad salespeople. If someone calls the house with a good spiel, I'll sit and listen even if not interested, but a bad one just infuriates me. So within the last week I have come across two bad sales people.

The first one is at the car dealership. The spousal_unit wants a new car and I saw this Equus driving down the street the other day, thought it looked great and decided to find out who made it. Turned out it was Hyundai. So I visit a dealership for a test drive and the car is awesome. The back seat may be more roomy than anything I've ever been in. In fact, there's a button to turn the seat behind the front passenger into a recliner. The features are great. The drive is incredible. It's really a great car. However, the salesman knows almost nothing about it. They don't sell many, so this guy comes out with a booklet and tries to figure it out as we go. I have a few questions that he can't answer. He asks someone else, then the manager, all know very little about the car. The sales guy talks about features, but never explains the benefits. Terrible sales pitch. I know when I go to the Mercedes or Lexus dealer, that sales guy is going to know everything about it. Then, even a bigger issue is the service. My theory is, you buy a car once, but you have it serviced often. These lower end car companies want to compete, but haven't a clue how to. They don't understand what they are selling is an ownership experience, not a car.
So, anyway, that is peeve number 1.

Next is my problem with sales guys who sell the negatives. Rather than selling why something is good, they sell on why something is not as good.
I went to the car wash Sunday, they have various priced washes. I don't need anything fancy, just a wash and vacuum, but this guy makes it a point to tell me how sucky of a job they do for a mere $15. IF, I get the $49 wash they will blah blah blah.....
Why would I trust them for $49 when he is telling me they do a terrible job for $15?

Just my opinion, of course.
