The 11th edition of the Presidents Cup was decided in the last match of Sunday singles during which Bill Haas defeated Sangmoon Bae 2 up, giving the United States a 15½-14½ victory over the Internationals.

It wasn't until late that the attention drifted to the anchor match at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in the final session, but that's the ebb and flow of a match-play competition with only so many points up for grabs. Alas, it was hard to watch at the par-5 last. Needing to win the hole to share the Cup, Bae failed to pitch his third onto the green. He crouched in disappointment before gathering himself for his fourth, which came to rest 16 feet and three inches from the cup. Haas was in a greenside bunker, but blasted to just 67 inches. As Haas (1-1-1) went to mark, Bae (2-1-1) scooped up his own ball and extended his hand in defeat. The U.S. is now 9-1-1 with six consecutive victories in the biennial competition. The 2017 Presidents Cup will be contested at Liberty National in New Jersey.
