However; Touch Bionics and the Deka Arm system (both mentioned in the UsNews artl.), both have technology SW and new potential avenues of increasing the usefulness of EKSO Exo-suit. They are experimenting with mind-control command of damaged limbs. It has been found that tiny sensors implanted in old muscle groups can stimulate robotic limbs. Also, direct brain implants can be used to activate previously un-useable limbs and create logic impulses to control artificially, practical electronics. Somewhat alike what Fighter-Pilots have tried to be able to control their aircraft during High-G loads, where their G-Suits do keep them awake but rather unable to activate weapons and maneuvering.
The blind and visually impaired are a whole other arena for EKSO to play to (Hugely powerful and organized and have contract assembly workshops with the likes of BA for interior manufacturing airliner parts, for example). Blind organizations can put huge political pressures on a number of value points for EKSO. Knock . . . Knock . . . anyone in their EKSO?
