Richard,

Here is a ton of information on Tax incentives for filming in Canada.
In some cases they will even cover the entire budget. Both the
Director of Photography and myself are Canadian. This is why
Hollywood crews has been struggling and that so many movies are being
filmed in Canada now. You would be surprised at all of the movies
that are filmed in Canada these days. Most of them are actually.
Brokeback mountain was filmed in Canada for example. The Superman
movie was filmed in Australia because of similar tax incentives. The
average person doesn't know this because in the story it is set in the
US and made to look like the US. Here is some information:

Filming brings a tremendous amount of money into a community. So if
the government gives you 40% of the money you spend, they still have
60% that they wouldn't have if you filmed in another country.

You don't have to shoot the whole movie in Canada but you only get the
Tax incentives for the parts you film in Canada. So if we were to
shoot at a UFC or Pride event for a day in Las Vegas or Japan then
everything else could be shot in Canada and matched up later on.
That's the magic of making movies.

And BTW, we have not announced anything about the UFC or Pride, only
that we have discussions and that more news will follow about this
project.

I don't mind being asked questions that have not been asked before.
I'll tell you what, you are the new designated question asker for
IPRE. LOL!

All the best,

James
