Where Chicadee is blowing smoke Markmbc makes some sense. But using Facebook vs. Twitter is at least a comparison you can make... they're public, as are however many other crypto currencies that are being traded via at least 50 currency exchanges around the world.
None of which [exchanges ... like banks exchanging dollars for Euros] are trading My Big Coin. Hello, why the mystery. Let's face it, hiding behind the veil of "confidential IPO" can only go so far before the natives get restless. This native's restless. What happened to the

Whose the community that's trading in MBC? Those investors, here on this board? It's limited to this? So who sets the value? Demand? Good for Markmbc to ask for a few investors who have successfully brokered a trade to step forward. I am "on this train" and I haven't had any luck nor have 2 others I know. From where I sit the MBC Exchange is right up there with some marionette show, with a puppeteer behind a veil making up numbers (buy/sell/trades/value) week to week and lately month to month. The puppeteer clearly has Chicadee by the short hairs.
To dismiss brokers as ignorant of anything beyond their daily task goes beyond the pale. They're in the money business. They may not actively trade in crypto currencies but of course they've heard of them. Your butcher might not trade in snakes but if he wanted to, he'd figure out how to research them easily enough. My broker and his network (BIG Wall Street co.) certainly have the tools in hand to bring up Crypto Currencies... and they have, and MBC seems to be the lone wolf he can't find much on. That said his brokerage doesn't do business in the Crypto market, just as the butcher chooses not to do business in snakes.
But Chicadee... you with your MBA in finance are apparently "the" crypto expert. Blowing smoke and hysteria vs. dealing with actual facts are miles apart. I'd say you're starting to abuse that word.
Markmbc is a pleasant dose of reality.
Don't get me wrong. I'll be happy to see MBC go to the moon but the mystery is starting to weigh on my finances. And me, just a little.
