For the future:

Anybody not using the "Lotus Notes-like" features of Outlook is far better off using Outlook Express instead. The mail handling features are mostly the same.

The huge disadvantage of Outlook is that it saves its data with proprietary encription, and makes very difficult for you to get to it. Always a big problem when you switch computers.

Outlook Express is far more open with its data, and provides several ways of exchanging it.
