Doing a search on "fraud vitiates" and chasing the numerous rabbit trails will be quite an education. One such case is U.S. v. Throckmorton, 98 U.S. 61. I'll have to dig separately on The Frontier Airlines case, as it is apparently blocked out (hmmmm).
