Cowboy, I could respond on so many different levels to that post. I agree with the postulate tenents put forward but I will go one step further. My belief in God goes without question. I have a personal opinon that we have been removed from God, in its purest form, by thousands of years of institutionalized dogma put forth by churches and goverments in order to elicit certain desired behaviors from populations as a whole.
I believe in God, not in the mass produced, mass marketed God, but in a more simplistic and simple way. I will be the first to admit that if you take a billion different people and could look into their minds, you would find that God is a billion different visions. My personal belief is that God encompases all, we are of God and he is of us. We are allegedly created in his image and thusly we were given the ability to create. Creation is the act of exercising ones free will in any direction we choose.
Man creates many different things, we have the ability to create pain and suffering, we have the ability to destroy the world around us and create fear in the world around us. We are also imbued with the ability to do great good, the bring happiness and joy into this world, by our actions and thoughts.
In other words, we all carry the unique talent, within ourselves of creating heaven and hell. I believe right now the collective of humankind is busily involved in creating a very profound version of hell, that matches the worst visions of any thinker of any ages. The thing that is so ironic is that we have built this hell by degrees, slowly sliding into it as the centuries pass. If you sit in a cauldron of cold water and somone lights a fire underneath, the water slowly heats up so you adjust to the changes until it is too late.
Is it too late, are we so far down the road to hell that we cannot turn back? Of course not, we were given free will by God, it is never too late to turn back.
I think, I began turning back several years ago. I discovered that I had to look inside to understand the heavens and hells I had created inside of myself. I had to find out what really mattered. If we each come to understand the goodness within ourselves then one by one we add to the collective vision of heaven. It is never too late to turn back from the road we have made for ourselves. In that I take great comfort. I cannot help but wonder though, if God is looking on and shaking his head.
Sorry, there I go getting all windy again. IMHO
