More apple store

Got a chance to visit Farmington Mall store in CT. Nice upscale location. Business brisk. Staff were helpful, genius bar was empty. To be fair it was a Saturday night.

The products available at the store are lustful. Bagged a new PB battery (really improves the time!), an airline/car adapter, a copy of Virtual PC Dos and the kids Sim ed up to the max. Also wanted a portable FW hard drive and of course an iPod and a multifunction printer. (The G5 speaks for itself-August) The kids 8, and 11 loved the chairs at the imacs, had to extract them. If we lived closer to an apple store I'd buy a mac just to send them to camp.

The best apple shopping experience ever. So many analysts calling the stores a bad move a la Gateway have got to be wrong wrong wrong. Hopefully as the economy recovers we will see some growth like the early days of the gap and home depot.

A store in Portland OR, my nearest city, with no sales tax would kick A. CompUSA currenty has the location just over the bridge to WA state. Sooner or later apple has to bite the bullit and compete in this market.
