It was a con game from the very beginning. VM conned everybody. No one knew it was a criminal enterprise until they joined the company and started hearing different answers to the same question...and then it was too late.

And when people find out that they got conned and are named in tons of lawsuits mere months after joining a company, the natural reaction is to milk the company (and VM) for every last dime they can so they can defend themselves in court.

Since the toxic financiers are the ones dishing out the money, it's easier for them to accept because that money was never going to the company anyhow.

At some point the critters that came scurrying out from underneath the rocks got to be too much for the folks who left. VM left a trail of destruction that this company will never dig out from.
