Will we grow a crop that returns $216-450 per acre with no demand=--or a crop that returns $1,000+ per acre, that we can sell year after year (after input costs but before shipping cost).

If so, then you understand the concept of why the government, occasionally, PAYS farmers NOT to grow a certain drop. You do understand why the government does so, yes? Well, you sure would, if you are, indeed, a farmer.
