Yes, the US has 60 days (peons like us only get 21) to respond to the Summons that was served them on 8/17/15, so, they must respond no later than 10/16/15. If they failed to respond (which would never happen, as we can see by their motions) judgment by default would be entered against them for the relief demanded in the complaint.
So far it looks as though FnF (FHFA/UST) has assigned the following lawyers to represent them....Asim Varma, David B. Bergman, Howard N. Cayne (all, So Ordered by Sleet), D. Zachary Hudson and Paul D. Clement (awaiting Order), but I'm guessing there'll definitely be more in the near future.
