Yes, certainly positives to oil prices, but deflation in and of itself is the trump card. Deflation is public enemy # 1 in the eyes of central bankers. Also, the default spiral from loans given these exploration cos has a multiplier effect. in 2008 it wasn't the defaults themselves that were so bad, it was the unknown consequences ( ripple effects ) of those defaults.
